Art direction, design & layout for San Francisco Film Magazine called Pamplemousse.
Art directed and designed the last 4 issues of Playboy’s print magazine. Sourced artists, photographers, and illustrators to collaborate on the visual direction of article sections. Crafted new art direction, font explorations, column widths, decks, and pull-out quote styles for the Interview and Heritage sections evolving the magazine while nodding to its visual roots. Here are some layout outtakes I designed and art directed for the Spring 2020, Winter 2020, Fall 2019, and Summer 2019 quarterly issues of Playboy Magazine.

I have spent years defining and redefining what holding space means to me and why it matters in my development as an individual and as an artist.
Holding space is to be a compassionate witness and embrace our full spectrum of human emotions – love, empathy, care, hatred, anger, lust, and jealousy, amongst others – without judgment. Holding space is fine-tuning our mind-body connection, rewiring old neural circuit patterning, shedding trauma through therapy, breathwork, and even psychedelic experiences — and integrating these lessons when dealing with stressors in our daily lives. It is practicing self-care through different modalities — not as a trend — but as a way to gracefully show up for others.
Holding space is building an abundance and growth mentality to allow for changes regarding our perspectives on health, sexuality, trauma, and emotions. It is letting different aspects of our identity and layered experiences to exist fluidly and work congruently to bring us closer to our authentic selves. It is through this connection with myself that I am able to better connect with others.
My work focuses on building relationships with my subjects in capturing their vulnerabilities on camera to facilitate introspection. Josh’s encounter with a past health scare forced him to form healthy rituals that prompted this newfound confidence in his body and late-developing sexuality. Alex shared his passionate and uninhibited approach to making music. His creative endeavors propel him to be conscious of his actions and focus on people and events that bring him growth; his ability to say ‘no’ to situations that do not feed his desires has created room for ones that do.
In playing with color, form, and motion, my street photography dedicates space for fleeting, intimate moments around the city. These are spontaneous, fly-on-the-wall snapshots of beauty that may have gone unnoticed. Taking these film photos and designing these risographs felt like a true cathartic release of my own compounded grief. I continue to contemplate and define what discernment, boundaries, trauma, and authenticity mean to me. In doing so, I have accepted my life as an imperfect, constantly molding, learning machine fueled by my fascination with the connection between mind and body.

EuroPane is best known for their fresh variety of breads and homemade desserts including their famous macaron selection. I alluded to the derived Italian word “il pane” from the bakery name and chose to focus on the importance of bread in the redesign of their logo. The counter of the “o” is shaped in the form of a loaf of bread and contains three rounded line marks placed inside this negative space to symbolically represent the natural ridges found on top of freshly baked bread. This simple transformation of the typography allows EuroPane to showcase themselves through an iconic logomark that allows for elegant, easy recognizable branding on all of their packaging.
